Popular venues – like nightclubs and concert halls – may need to admit thousands of people at peak times. Delays checking in items at cloakrooms frustrate customers. Lost property and lost reclaim tickets lead to further negative guest experiences.
Chexology set out to modernize item check-in and reclaim operations with a mobile-first approach – eliminating paper, streamlining workflows, boosting both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
With VTAP NFC Wallet Readers integrated into every station, staff link each item to the customer with a quick swipe of an NFC-tagged hanger – no delays, no prep work.
Originally, Guests checked in items using their phone number and receive a digital claim code via text. They can now use the ChexPass, an NFC-enabled pass added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet that works for all visits, and for any venue using Chexology.
When reclaiming items, guests simply use their ChexPass, by presenting their phone to the VTAP reader. It’s a 10-second check-in and a seamless reclaim.
Chexology found that VTAP readers were faster and provided a wider NFC read area than others, delivering critical workflow performance improvements. The solution uses VTAP BLE GATT connectivity to enable fast, flexible communication between the check-in station and the NFC reader.
